Come to Alabama’s beautiful Dauphin Island on Saturday, October 17, 2020, to participate in the Mobile Bar Foundation’s annual “Tri The Gulf” sprint triathlon. The triathlon has quickly become a favorite for experienced triathletes along the Northern Gulf Coast and its design makes it the perfect triathlon for the first time or novice triathlete. The event is based at the Isle Dauphine Club located on the Island. It is sanctioned by the USA Triathlon Association and led by a USAT certified race director. The triathlon consists of: (1) a 600 yard open water swim in protected Gulf of Mexico waters (Pelican Bay), (2) 16.7 mile bike ride on the Island featuring two trips across the famous Dauphin Island Bridge, and (3) 3.25 mile run primarily on the fairways of the Isle Dauphine Golf Club fronting the Gulf of Mexico. The event is followed by a wonderful party with delicious food and beverage and great awards for the participants. All of the proceeds of the triathlon benefit civic and charitable endeavors in the Southwest Alabama - Mobile area.
