Thunder on the Three Notch features two days of living history on the grounds of the Pioneer Museum of Alabama in Troy. Skilled artisans and craftsmen dressed in period clothing bring folk arts and crafts to life with demonstrations from 10:00am-5:00pm Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 A reenactment based on two battles fought during the Creek War of 1836 will occur each day at 2:00pm. The battles were fought at Hobdy's Bridge in Pike County in February and March 1837 on the Pea River near Hobdy's Bridge. Admission charged. Preston's food truck will be on sight for lunch. 2 Brothers Frozen Treats will also be on sight for those needing a sweet treat.
The Pioneer Museum of Alabama features more than 18,000 artifacts depicting the life and times of early Alabama. A one-room schoolhouse, log church, dogtrot cabin, and general store are some of the 22 historic structures located on the grounds.
