Carl Edmond DeCelle reigned as the all-encompassing artist-designer of Carnival in Mobile from the 1920s to the 1960s. In addition to designing parade floats and costumes, DeCelle was a respected painter and watercolorists. Having works shown at the World's Fair 1939, his reach extended far beyond Mobile. This exhibit showcases through a large selection of DeCelle's varied works the artistry and impact of a man whose impact resonates in Mardi Gras to this day.
