Spirit of Our Ancestors Festival

The Clotilda Descendants Association will present the Fourth Annual "Spirit of Our Ancestors" Festival on February 12, 2022.  This year’s event will feature the stories of slave ship Clotilda and Africatown being brought to life in a short play titled “An Ocean in My Bones,” developed by playwright and award-winning director Terrence Spivey.  Another highlight of the 2022 festival is keynote speaker Dr. Joseph Brown, professor of Africana Studies at Southern Illinois University.

Doors open at 10 a.m., and the festival begins at noon.  Tickets to the festival are free, but limited to first-come, first-served basis because of the continuing pandemic.  Tickets can be reserved through the Clotilda Descendants Associatin website at this link, https://theclotildastory.com/event/spirit-of-our-ancestors-festival.  Seats are limited.  RSVP today!
