Chinese Lantern Festival

Chinese Lantern Festival. Enchanting by the sunlight and magical by the moonlight. Enter “The Wild,” a world of life-size (sometimes larger than life) illuminated panda bears, lions, flamingos and more fauna from the world’s seven continents. Each of the lanterns is made by masters of the craft in Zigong, China’s center of lantern heritage. The festival occurs nightly on Wednesday through Sunday evenings each week from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Join us for an outdoor this evening with the Tremble Weeds! This two-piece Indie rock n’ roll band, consisting of Dylan Fox and Nick Barnett, have an impressive rock catalog with elements of blues and rockabilly; think Flat Duo Jets, White Stripes, and The Gories. The duo have been playing together since they were kids. In 2015 they moved to Joshua Tree and got right to work printing demos and eventually recorded two albums that are available on vinyl. When they are not playing gigs all over the the great state of California, you can find them up late practicing in the garage, just like they did in high school.

Their goal is simple: write well-crafted songs and consistently deliver fun, authentic, relentless rock shows. Rob Aldridge & the Proponents is a trio comprised of talents: Rob Aldridge (vocals, guitar), Rob Malone (vocals, guitar), and Stone Anderson (vocals, bass). All seasoned musicians, their sound is tight and high energy with a broad dynamic range. According to AL.com contributor Matt Wake, “The world really doesn’t need any more lukewarm Americana music right now. What the world needs is some inspired new rock songs, and Rob Aldridge & The Proponents are doing their part… You can tell this music has roots, but the songs never sound like tributes.”
