2025 April Walking Tours in Alabama

April 5th, 2025 - April 26th, 202510 a.m.

The Alabama Tourism Department’s annual April Walking Tours will occur on Saturday mornings in April and will take place at 31 locations across the state.

Community leaders and volunteers will guide the free tours through historical areas that display art and culture of the city.  The tours will start at 10 a.m. on April 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Birmingham--Fred Shuttlesworth statue at Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, 520 16th St. N (Tour on April 19 ONLY)

Huntsville--Alabama Constitution Hall Park, 109 Gates Ave SE  (Tours April 5 and 12 ONLY)

Leeds--Downtown Leeds  (Tour April 12 ONLY, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m., rain date April 26)  The tour will include stops at various locations throughout the city, where participants will learn about the history of Leeds in the 1950s.
