Saturday in the Park: Traditional Tools and Weapons

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, Bill Skinner will be at Moundville Archaeological Park from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. to demonstrate the use of ancient technologies such as stone tools, atlatls with darts, and flint knapping. Visitors will have a chance to observe and even try using some of the tools themselves.
This hands-on program offers visitors the opportunity to learn about traditional Native tool and weapon-making techniques and engage with the technologies of the past in an interactive way.
Participation with tools is open to all, but anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All are welcome to observe!
Admission
This program is free with paid park admission.

- Seniors (55-years-old and older) – $7
- Students – $6
- Under 5 – Free
- Moundville Residents – Free
- Native American visitors – Free with tribal membership card
- UA Museums members – Free with museum membership
- Circle of Champions members – Free with museum membership

Outside the Jones Archaeological Museum at Moundville Archaeological Park.
