In 1919, Demopolis hosted the great Rooster Auction to raise funds to build a bridge over the Tombigbee River connecting Marengo and Sumter counties, the last link in the Dixie Overland Highway. Thus was erected the infamous Rooster Bridge! Join the Marengo County Historical Society in commemorating this unique event in Alabama history! Guests can run the Cock's Crow 5K, browse Rooster Fair in Public Square (arts/crafts/food) as you listen to live entertainment, let the kids be kids at the Coop Games. 9 am- 4 pm.

    The Demopolis High School Theatre is a state of the art facility that holds approximately 470 seats. The Tiger Arts Guild presents performances in this facility as well as the Two Rivers Arts Council in Demopolis.
