Ride of Silence

On May 20th we will be conducting the “Ride of Silence” to memorialize those that have been killed and or seriously injured while riding there bicycles by motor vehicles.
This ride is also intended to raise awareness to our community that cyclist, use the same roads, follow the same rules, and have the same rights to use the roads.
The ride starts at the Civil Rights Institute in Downtown Birmingham rolling at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early (6:40 pm) as we gather for the reading of the names of those that have passed.
There will be a Police Escort leading us out along with a vehicle carrying a banner helping to raise awareness for the event.
The ride will roll at 12 mph. Helmets must be worn on this ride, no exception. Front and rear lights are encouraged.
There is no talking during the ride as this is the “Ride of Silence”.
Black Arm Bands will be available for the first 200 riders. We ask that you return them at the end of the ride.
