Quilts in the Courtroom

Quilts in the Courtroom

Feb 1st 2021 - Feb 26th 202110-4 Mon - Fri, 10-2 Sat

Monroe County Museum is pleased to again present a showcase of quilts on loan from the region in an exhibit which is free to the public. The exhibit will run from February 1st through February 26th during the museum’s regular opening hours of Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm and Saturday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Quilts will take center stage, adding lively patterns and vibrant splashes of color throughout the courtroom made famous by the film version of To Kill a Mockingbird. Designs will range from the traditional to one-of-a-kind originals. A featured item available for sale in the Bird’s Nest Gift Shop is the Museum’s Legacy publication, Cotton Country Quilts, written by Monroe County native Mary Elizabeth Johnson Huff. In addition, we will be selling raffle tickets for “Magnolias in Bloom”, a quilt lovingly made and generously donated by Wanda Fontaine and LuAnn Joswick, members of the Pensacola Quilt Guild. All proceeds from the raffle will go toward support and maintenance of the Old Courthouse Museum.
