The town of Phil Campbell is named after Phillip Campbell, the railroad crew leader and engineer who constructed a railroad depot and side stretch of track near this modern day town. Phil Campbell is the only town in Alabama to have the first and last names of an individual.  The Town of Phil Campbell hosts the annual Phil Campbell Festival with musical entertainment, car show, contests, vendors, food, and much more.  This festival is held on the third weekend of June.
