Living History Presentation: Tales of "Ole Union Springs--Buildings, People and Ole Times", presented by Ann Powell

December 13th, 20251-4 p.m.

Enjoy Ole Time Stories and Living History of Historic Union Springs, presented by Ms. Ann Powell, local retired teacher with 40 years of teaching in Union Springs.  Ms. Powell will share stories about small town life, community, and times before cell phones and the internet.  Learn about the buildings on Prairie Street (downtown Union Springs) and how they used to look, what was in them, who ran the business and how "things" used to get done.  Everyone Welcome.

The event is the first of a series of "Our Past Retold", proudly presented by the Josephine Event Center, located in the Historic 1880 Josephine Hotel Building.  There is a local museum in the building, as well as art treasures made by our Black Belt Artists for sale in the gallery.

Downtown Union Springs, Alabama (unionsprings.net), known as the Bird Dog Field Trial Capital, is the location of many murals, beautiful historic homes, The Red Door Theatre (RDT) and much more.
