Hezekiah Watkins was on summer break between 8th and 9th grade when he was pushed into history, becoming the youngest person arrested during the 1961 Freedom Rides. Five days inside a Mississippi death row cell transformed him from a curious kid into a lifelong activist. Mr. Watkins will be at The Freedom Rides Museum to share insights from his new memoir, Pushing Forward. Hear his moving story, learn more about youth activism in 1960s Mississippi, and help us inspire the next generation of 13-year-olds set to change history. Regular museum admission rates apply.
