Visit website or call for exact date-------People from all over the southeast flock to this event every year. The Annual Hatchet Creek Festival and Float offers a 13 mile, two day adventure down a pristine creek with abundant nature and wildlife. Float starts Saturday morning at the US Hwy 280 bridge over Hatchet Creek. The flow determines the time to the campsite at Dunnams Halfway Campsite where tent and hammock camping is available. Facilities also available. Hospitality tent, refreshments provided. An evening meal and entertainment is included plus plenty of time to socialize with fellow floaters. After a good nights sleep and hot breakfast, it's time to tackle the more adventurous section of the float (depending on the waterflow). This section provides more beautiful nature including the rare Cahaba Lily. The registration fee includes camping equipment shuttled to the campsite and then to the takeout point, two meals, speakers and entertainment.
