Greenville Alabama Bicentennial

Greenville Alabama Bicentennial

Oct 15th 20229 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Greenville is 200 years old in 2022. The City of Greenville celebrates its 200th birthday in 2022 and it’s never too early to start planning for a party. What would one day be known as the “Camellia City” was officially created by an act of the Alabama Legislature on December 28, 1822. Plans currently in place include the unveiling of a special bicentennial logo; a historical marker recognizing the city’s 200 years; and a “Bicentennial Party” for the public in the park across from City Hall. That event will coincide with the already-planned Butler County Historical & Genealogical Society’s “Tour of Homes,” which will highlight some of the earliest homes built in Greenville.
