10am - 3pm
The annual celebration begins at 10 am. The public can explore the grounds from 10am to 3pm and enjoy cake made from Gen. Wheeler's favorite recipe (while it lasts) with drinks donated by Pepsi Bottling Co. Come see re-enactors firing a working Civil War cannon and and cavalry re-enactors demonstrating drills on their horses; talk with various folk artists such as a blacksmith as they demonstrate their skills; enjoy a pit-fire cooking demonstration; view handmade quilts on display; and learn about bees and their ecosystem from representatives from the Tennessee Valley Beekeepers Association. Lunch will be available for purchase from Copperhead Road Barbeque & Such, a local Lawrence County food truck. At 1 pm the grounds will be filled with live music as a country music group performs on the front porch of the museum.
