Demopolis

Christmas on the River kicks off the holiday season. From the Love Lights Tree and announcement of Special Child to the Lighting of Public Square, naming of St. Nick, and reading of the Christmas story, the days leading up to the weekend are jam-packed with Christmas spirit. Christmas in the Canebrake, that Friday, features historical houses decked with fresh greenery, sweets and savories, and live Christmas music. Friday evening also hosts the Alabama State Championship BBQ Cook-off, part of the Kansas City circuit. On Saturday. Jingle Bell Run starts the morning with a bang. Enjoy arts, crafts, and food at Fair in the Square. Mid-day features the Day Parade with huge papier-mâché floats. COTR culminates with the Nautical Parade and fireworks on the Tombigbee River. Enjoy the parade under the stars on the banks of the river or at the Gala.
