Butler County is proud to celebrate 200 years of history, 1819-2019. Created December 13, 1819, Butler is a county one day older than the state! Bicentennial Celebration includes founding people of Butler County displays (Native Americans, Pioneers/Settlers, African-Americans), community history exhibits, Pioneer Cemetery tours with costumed guides, tours of art deco Ritz Theater and historic churches, patriotic music, drama presentations, children's hands-on-history, food, and more. The public is invited to attend in historic costume. We're appreciating the past, honoring our county's founding peoples, and looking forward to the future as we go into the NEXT two hundred years of history. Join us! 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Confederate Park, Greenville, AL. Free general admission, tour ticket $10 (cash/check -- no credit cards/debit cards).
