23rd Annual Pioneer Day
October 26th, 20249 am - 3 p.m.Participate in more than 30 interactive historic or folk demonstrations with costumed re-enactors some of which include cracklins, basket making, pottery, shingle-making, Indian finger weaving, soap making, spinning, Native medicine, Indian food, butter churning, candle dipping, spoon making, Creek language lessons, & more! The kid's area has free hands-on activities like tin punch art, playing a comb harmonica, writing with a quill pen or walking on stilts. Come see cooking demonstrations like cracklins or head to chuck wagon where homemade chicken and dumplins, turnip greens, cornbread and pies cooked over a fire will be for sale. Visitors will also have an opportunity to make their own pies! Well-known luthier and banjo player Winky Hicks and Friends will be providing music all day, and the historic buildings will all be open for tours.
