For twelve years, the Montgomery Interfaith Christmas Nativity Exhibit has been bringing the River Region community together. “No matter what our race or religion or politics may be, we all share the same Christmas story." From Arabia to Thailand to Uganda, the Exhibit showcases over 300 nativity scenes from cultures around the world, together with beautiful pieces handcrafted by artists right here in Alabama. Past Exhibits have included Lladro, Fontanini, and Hummel Christmas art. Humphrey the Camel first appeared in the 2015 Montgomery Interfaith Christmas Nativity Exhibit. So many children have asked about him that the life-sized model camel will have a prominent location in the 2017 Exhibit. The Exhibit is adding a Children’s Room with hands-on fun, including a nativity dress-up area, coloring pages, and nativity pieces the little ones can handle and arrange. Children aged 5-13 are invited to participate in a Children’s Art Contest. The Art Contest registration form and details are available at www.montgomerynativity.com. Musicians from local schools, community groups, and churches provide free concerts every night of the Exhibit. The Montgomery Interfaith Christmas Nativity Exhibit will be open to the public every day from 1 pm to 8 pm on November 29 through December 3. The annual Seniors’ and Veterans’ Concert will be Thursday, November 30 at 9:30 am. FREE ADMISSION to all events and features. Cameras are welcome!
