Sumter County Nature Trails

The Sumter County Nature Trails are made up of lake, prairie, and forest trails. Miles of trails are perfect for hiking, running, bird watching, picnicking, and wildflower study. The trails are located on the University of West Alabama campus and maintained by the Sumter County Nature Trust. Guests are required to wear a mask when accompanying another individual not of the same household on the trails. The trails are open seven days a week from daylight to dusk*. *Dusk dark is defined as 30 minutes after sunset.
