Robinson's Roost
Robinson's Roost offers approximately 3100/sf available for use, including five (5) bedrooms and two (2) baths, an open living area which includes the kitchen and 42' television; one dining area; plus a large sun porch. The bedrooms include two king beds, three queen beds, one extended double and two single beds. The two rooms with king beds also include a single bed each, totalling eight (8) separate beds. Fourteen people sleep comfortably. Did I mention that there are NO BUNKBEDS. The sheets are all 100% cotton, as are the towels. All are bleached when washed (did you know that chlorine bleach is the only way to kill most of those nasty germs? Who knew?).
WiFi is provided (password protected).
The dock leading to the boathouse is equipped with three ladders into the water. The dock has two roof extensions providing shade, a wooden swing, plus additional stationary seating. There is a series of 'boat bumpers' for boats tied to the dock, protecting the boat from bumping the dock. The water level is controlled by TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) but generally fluctuates between 6-7 feet deep.
The public boat launch is located immediately before turning into the area, about a two mile drive by land and perhaps 1.5-2 miles by water. After launching your watercraft, it is an easy boat ride to Robinson's Roost. There is parking for several vehicles and/or trailers. Ask for specifics when you call for reservations.
* I must include the necessary disclaimer: Proper use of equipment and property is required. Use at your own risk.
For the fishermen, Robinson's Roost is located on the Main Channel of the Tennessee River, approximately 1.5-2 miles south of Goosepond Colony Resort (by boat). Goosepond Colony hosts multiple fishing tournaments annually and is available for refueling your boat while boating. Guntersville Lake is known for freshwater sports fishing, especially large mouth bass. Our 7-9 year olds love fishing from the dock, and are often quite successful. Any given day's catch might include bass, bream, catfish, crappie or even alligator gar!
