Chattahoochee Valley Railroad Trail

The Chattahoochee Valley Railroad Trail was developed over the railroad tracks that serviced the mills. The trail begins in Shawmut with quiet spans of straight trail running through tall pines and a few homes set back from the trail. In about two miles you enter Langdale where you cross US Highway 29 and rejoin the trail half a block south. The trail goes through Langdale which is home to numerous historical properties and bridges including the Wooden Bridge and the Rock Bridge. Continuing south the trail parallels town roads where you enter into the Fairfax community. The trail passes the FairFax Depot and continues on into the River View community, ending on School Street. The trail is approximately 7 miles long.
