Where To Eat
Still in its original location on Pepperell Parkway, the owners of this 50s style walk up are the third generation of the Story family to serve the freshest “fast” food in the area.

There’s a little roadside shack in Opelika called Mrs. Story’s Dairy Bar that's been around for over 60 years. The menu is fairly modest, just hot dogs and ice cream, but it’s a community favorite. The chili dogs are messy and magnificent. They come in foot-long or short, and they’re topped with ketchup, mustard and homemade chili – the same family recipe that’s been served for three generations. Optional toppings include cheese, slaw, onions and pickles.
Mrs. Story’s Dairy has been serving the Opelika community for over 60 years. People love to stop in for milkshakes, which are thick but not too thick to slurp through a straw. There are 15 flavors to choose from, but the most popular flavors are chocolate and strawberry.
