Montgomery Whitewater

Perfect for beginners to intermediate paddlers and rafters, the channels mimic a natural river. The 2,200-foot-long Creek Channel is designed for a Class II whitewater experience and is an excellent introduction to whitewater. A step up from the Creek Channel, the 1,600-foot-long Competition Channel is an incredible playground for those with more advanced skills and is ideal for even the novice rafter looking to take on bigger rapids. Both channels intersect in the lower pond to the takeout or back up the conveyor belt for another run!

Got the gear and skills to paddle at least Class II whitewater? This is the perfect whitewater paddling experience if you're looking for consistent water levels and a great place to train and prepare for natural rivers. The course offers nearly a mile of Class II-IV whitewater with several surf and hole features. Experienced kayakers can check in at Base Camp and paddle anytime the water is running with a valid day pass. All private boaters must have their own whitewater-specific boat, helmet, and PFD. Those looking to demo a boat must bring their personal PFD and helmet.

Looking to take on the rapids without a guide? Challenge yourself on the continuous class II+ rapids on the Creek Channel at Montgomery Whitewater. Try out one of our inflatable kayaks, also called duckies. With no guide on board, you are the captain and will steer your own smaller whitewater craft. Start off in the lower pond where you can practice your strokes and work on keeping the boat straight and maneuvering in the current. When you are ready, paddle over to the conveyor belt and start your journey! After the conveyor drops you off in the upper pond, keep right and paddle to the Creek Channel. The rapids start off relatively calm and pick up speed as you head downstream towards the lower pond and finish with a bang at the big drop!

For those wanting to beat the heat and relax on the water, join us for flat water activities on the lower pond before we turn the channels on. Sit-on-top kayaks, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), and duckies are available! A great way to spend time with family and friends before the heat turns up and the rapids turn on.
