Little Savannah Restaurant
Little Savannah has won the hearts of its Forest Park neighbors and others, not only because of its glowing reputation becoming one of the best new restaurants in Birmingham, but certainly another reason to come is to meet the husband/ wife owners Chef Clifton and Maureen Holt. The space is chic, but worth the wait. Be sure to call ahead for reservations. When you walk through the door of Little Savannah, not only will you find true Southern Hospitality, but an incredible fusion of the Taste of the South and cuisine from other countries. On Wednesday, there is a half-price wine list, patio seating, and a three-course tasting menu for $35. On Thursday, there is live music and a late-night menu.

Gulf shrimp and grits
This neighborhood bistro has crafted a menu around the hallmarks of Alabama food: fresh Gulf seafood, seasonal vegetables and plenty of grits. Available in both large and small serving sizes, this dish starts with fresh, succulent shrimp caught in the nearby Gulf. Sauteed mushrooms and pieces of slab bacon, along with added sherry and thyme, give the shrimp and grits rich, indulgent flavor – so tasty that you'll want to order this dish every time you visit.
