What To See & Do

Land Trust of North Alabama

Outdoor Recreation Site in Huntsville

Let the adventure begin! Want to hike, bike, trail run, or simply spend time beside a quiet stream? Enjoy waterfalls, wildflowers, and wonder - the Land Trust preserves and conserves greenspace for ALL to enjoy. We've five Nature Preserves - three of which are EACH larger than Central Park - and the first & only National Recreation Trails (65 miles in all) in Madison County. Our flagship Nature Preserve - Monte Sano Nature Preserve - is the green backdrop for downtown Huntsville and, at 1,107 acres, is one of the largest urban nature preserves in the country! This 25 mile trail system is just two miles from downtown. We protect an original Trail of Tears route, caves and quarries, wetlands, historic sites, farms, forests, and fresh water resources - for locals and visitors alike to explore and enjoy. You can attend our great events that help accomplish our conservation mission. See you on the trails!
