Kenan's Mill
Down on Valley Creek, one can almost hear the clank of old wagon wheels turn into the lane where families once brought corn to be ground into meal and grits. Just around the bend, time stands still as the mill, millhouse and charcoal kiln appear unchanged beneath moss-draped oaks and Catawba trees. The shady, park-like setting inspires visitors to explore the buildings, walk the trails, trek the swinging bridge or just sit and listen to the rhapsody of water spilling from the millpond across the dam.
