Guthrie's

Auburn

The Guthrie family restaurant opened in Haleyville in 1965. It wasn't until 1978, however, that the famous chicken fingers and sauce — the result of a contest between the Guthrie children to see who could make the best chicken finger sauce — were added to the menu. In the 1980s, Guthrie's began serving only chicken fingers, fries, bread and sauce. Though the restaurant now boasts more than 20 locations throughout Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee, the sauce and chicken fingers are still made the same way they were when it all began. Chicken Fingers & Sauce

If you want to taste an incredible chicken-fingers-and-sauce combo, head on over to Guthrie’s, which has been serving the popular dish since the 1970s. The first Guthrie family restaurant opened in 1965, and now the chain boasts more than 20 locations throughout Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee. Rumor has it the dipping sauce recipe was the result of a contest between the Guthrie children. Clearly, one of them had a big win!
