Gulf State Park has 6,150 acres with over 2 miles of sugar white beaches. We have 496 modern campsites, 31 cabins/cottages (27 of which are on a lake), a brand new Gulf front Lodge, a state of the art Learning Campus, a beach pavilion with snack bar, a 1,540 ft. fishing pier with a restaurant, picnic areas, group pavilions and nature programs. We also offer walking, hiking and biking trails. Guided walks and outdoor educational programs are limited to 10 guests. Masks are encouraged but not mandatory if guests maintain 6 feet distance. Gulf State Park also has a swimming pool and splash pad( camping and cabin guests only) a camp store and laundry facility. There is a nature center located in the campground and due to COVID only 9 guest will be allowed at a time and all guests (except for children 6 and under) will be required to wear a mask while inside. The nature center hours are Mon.-Sat. from 9am-4pm. Enjoy two novel activities in December 2020 when you visit Gulf State Park. Pier Construction Tour: Since the destruction caused by Hurricane Sally on September 16, 2020, contractors and staff members have worked diligently to reopen the Pier. Approximately 725 feet of the pier has been repaired and is now open for fishing on both sides. The southern portion of the structure, which sustained significantly greater damage, remains closed. The pier will be open to the public 24/7 with staff on site from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the maximum capacity stands at 200 occupants. Registration required; must be age 18 or older; minimum of 2, maximum of 12 on tour. Masks required if social distancing cannot be maintained. Dune Planting/Restoration: In this two-hour experience, guests learn about the benefits of native dune vegetation, its importance during tropical events, and join together to enhance the dunes by participating in a group planting project. Registration required; Cost – free; ages 7 years and older; minimum of 4; maximum of 20 on tour. Masks required if social distancing cannot be maintained.
