Great Southern Outdoors Wildlife Plantation

Great Southern Outdoors offers 6,000 acres of naturally beautiful land abundant with wildlife and full of southern heritage. This dream destination for any outdoorsman or woman consists of prime habitat for deer, turkey, quail and hogs not to mention our great fishing. Great Southern Outdoors is owned and operated by Rex Pritchett III. Whitetail deer hunting is available to meet every sportsmen's desire. The plantation is home to 60 quality green fields and over 150 strategically located deer stands. We have shooting house stands to accommodate two hunters as well as several ladder stands. Climbing stands are also permitted for the adventurous deer hunter. The management program for the past 16 years has been focused on growing the trophy southern whitetail. Eastern turkeys thrive on the property. They can usually be found in several of our wheat fields or among our planted pines. We also have many mature trees in creek bottoms where the turkeys love to roost. There is nothing like a spring morning hunt when you can listen to multiple birds hammer gobbles at you from different directions, the experience is truly amazing. The history of this location is very extensive, Bughall Plantation has been owned by the Pritchett family since the 1880's. The owners have been grooming the property for this opening season and all of the property has been in a wildlife management program to grow trophies for the past 16 years. The Plantation has three lodges. First Lodge is made of cypress wood and pine. Second Lodge - Bughall Lodge built in 1823 made of cypress. The inside has it's original tongue and groove. This lodge is overlooking the main plantation. Third Lodge - Hunter's Hide Out is the newest lodge made of cypress wood inside and out. This lodge has 6 individual rooms with private bathrooms in each. The lodge has a beautiful view of an open green field as you step outside your room. Activity Center - The center is 6000 sq. ft. and consist of a game room, restaurant and lounge area. It is built out of cypress wood with a great open window view to observe the wildlife in the open green fields at the back of the building. A great place to gather on the deck to watch ducks, geese and bass jumping. In the afternoon hear owls talking and see turkeys strutting in the hardwood bottoms.
