Flagg Mountain

The Pinhoti National Recreation Trail trailhead is located 1 mile east of the Tower on CCC Camp Rd. This is also the southern terminus of the Pinhoti Trail and provides the access to the Eastern Continental Trail, the Great Eastern Trail, and the Appalachian Trail. Other outdoor activities are available in the area.


At 1,152' Flagg Mountain is one of the southernmost mountains along the eastern seaboard above 1,000'. Listed on the National Historic Tower Site as tower #250, Flagg Mountain Lookout Tower is located on the Weogufka State Forest in Coosa County, Alabama. Built by the CCC in 1935, the 50’ stone tower is a unique structure. Renovation work underway.
