Coleman Coliseum

Coleman Coliseum is a historic multi-purpose arena located on the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa. Opened in 1968, the venue is home to Alabama Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Alabama Gymnastics and is one of the central facilities for Crimson Tide athletics. The main arena seats approximately 13,474 fans and features a modern sound system and a large center-hung videoboard that enhances the game-day experience. In addition to athletic competitions, the coliseum is also used for special events, banquets, and presentations. Visitors can explore the spacious 360-degree concourse, which highlights historic moments, players, and coaches from Alabama athletics. The facility also includes an auxiliary practice area with two full-size basketball courts, as well as training, weight, and equipment rooms for student-athletes. Known by fans as the “Plaid Palace,” Coleman Coliseum has hosted decades of memorable sporting moments and remains an important gathering place for Alabama athletics and the Tuscaloosa community.
