Saraland

Head north from Mobile, and you’ll find Saraland tucked away along Route 43. This small town offers both outdoor and indoor sights and activities, starting with Chickasaw Creek which connects Brook Park, a serene waterway that winds its way through the town, offering peaceful moments and scenic vistas. 

One of the premiere attractions in Saraland is the Jacinto Port Land Management Area, a sprawling oasis that boasts an extensive trail system spanning approximately 7.5 miles, featuring six distinct trails showcasing diverse ecosystems. Open seasonally, these trails welcome hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders, with the latter requiring specific licenses. While exploring these routes, you'll traverse sandhill pine, hardwood, and water-rich habitats, with picturesque overlooks providing stunning views of Bayou Sara and the Mobile-Tensaw Delta. Abundant wildlife, including kites, warblers, herons, and bobwhites, make it a birder's paradise, and you might spot remnants of a historic brickmaking site. 

Campers can enjoy a first-come,-first-served campsite with a commitment to Leave No Trace principles. Additionally, Jacinto Port offers water access via the Bartram Canoe Trail and is open to hunting during the designated seasons, adhering to relevant regulations. 

In town, Walter V. Cofield City Park, Lillian Ave Park, and Rufus Harbin Park are green havens within Saraland, where you can enjoy leisurely walks, picnics, and moments of relaxation amidst nature's beauty.
