Bird's Farm Hay Art

Bird's Farm Hay Art, a fun back roads trip surprise, is the work of Jim Bird who is a master of turning junk into art. He uses large bales of hay and other objects such as tires, hubcaps, buckets, wood, 55-gallon drums and even bathtubs. What began in 1993 as the result of malfunctions with Jim's hay baler, Jim first created a caterpillar to surprise his wife. Other rural art pieces include Snoopy and the Red Baron's airplane, a helicopter, army tank, octopus, a matador in trouble with a bull and many others. Travelers can drive by, stop and view as well as photograph Jim's creations.
