Arkwright Heritage Area

The "Arkwright Heritage Area" marks Alabama history from 2000 B.C. to the present; from land-grant settlers to today's farmers; from Plantation Society and slavery to today's agricultural society: from growth of the railroad industry in railroad town of Arkwright to its demise. It marks two prehistoric sites of native Americans and other Indian sites. The 13 prehistoric and historic sites in the "Area" are all listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage.
