Ruthless! The Musical
The University of Alabama Department of Theatre & Dance presents its first show of the season which will open at the Allen Bales Theatre under the direction of third-year MFA theatre candidate Natasha Straley. A talented cast of UA students will present a campy, satirical, dark comedy inspired by a variety of shows such as The Bad Seed. Ruthless! The Musical gleefully explores the dark side of talent, unveiling the antics of stage moms, show business, and the relentless drive to succeed. The show follows Tina, a young girl with boundless ambition who will stop at nothing to land the starring role of Pippi Longstocking. Wildly comedic and delightfully over-the-top, this musical asks what happens when the pursuit of stardom begins to take on a life of its own.
