Harper Lee
Monroeville
Harper Lee’s hometown of Monroeville inspired her 1960 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, "To Kill a Mockingbird", and her recently published best-selling novel, "Go Set a Watchman". Several times each spring, residents of Monroeville produce a two-act theatrical rendition of "To Kill a Mockingbird", performed in the same historic courtroom that inspired the sets of the Academy Award-winning movie that starred Gregory Peck.
