Valentine's Evening Celebration
February 14, 2017 in Greensboro , AL
6pm - 9pm
The evening's entertainment will be an exciting mix of Alabama blues music, past and present. Host Debbie Bond is an internationally renowned performer, music educator and founder of the Alabama Blues Project. States like Mississippi and Louisiana are known for their outstanding blues music heritage. Alabama has an equally important blues history and culture that is often overlooked. Did you know that world-famous harmonica legend Little Sonny was born and raised right here in Greensboro? This program will entertain you with wonderful songs that express the ups and downs of love, and also open your eyes to some of our rich Alabama music heritage while you enjoy hearing Dothan native Big Mama Thornton's version of "Hound Dog", Etta James' hit "At Last", which was recorded in Muscle Shoals, and Tuscaloosa's own Dinah Washington hit "Blow Top Blues". The show will also feature Rachel, Carla and Debbie's original music. The evening will start at 6pm and end at 9pm; there will be hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar (checks and credit cards ONLY). Hope to see you there!
