Come see history come to life when members of the USS ALABAMA Living History Crew comes aboard ship. These historical reenactors demonstrate what life was like about ship during WWII. Dressed in period appropriate uniforms, these men tell the stories of the original crewmen who served aboard the USS ALABAMA. Among the activities you will see are the raising of the Colors each morning at 8:00 a.m., weaponry overviews, emergency drills, and call to battle stations. Each Saturday of drill at 1:00 p.m. there is a mock attack by vintage airplanes. The reenactors man their battle stations and fire the 40mm and 20mm guns, fending off the air raid. In the wardroom, amateur radio operators broadcast live. It’s always a great weekend to be at the park.
