"Let It Snow!" An Indoor Winter Wonderland

November 01, 2013 to January 31, 2014 in Gadsden , AL

The Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts and the Imagination Place Children's Museum cannot wait to Let It Snow! For 12 weeks, the Chan Gallery inside the Hardin Center will be transformed into a winter wonderland. In conjunction with the annual Festival of Trees exhibit featuring more than 30 decorated Christmas trees, children will be delighted to find an indoor snow-covered fantasy land where they can toss snow balls, ride down the snow slide, build a snowman, and create snow angels. The opening weekend coincides with Historic Downtown Gadsden's Open House on November 10, 2012 and the snow fun continues through the end of January 2013. HOW WILL IT SNOW INDOORS? The Chan Gallery will be filled with an amazing substance. This environmentally-friendly polymer looks, feels and glistens like real snow. It's non-toxic, non-hazardous and is often used by motion picture special effects artists. By adding simple tap water to the dry powder it expands to 100 times its volume and becomes cold to the touch as it transforms into fluffy snow that you'll believe is the real thing.
