Alabama Seafood Summit

The fifth annual Alabama Gulf Seafood Summit, taking place June 26-27 at The Wharf in Orange Beach, will bring together representatives from all segments of the Alabama seafood community to examine conditions in the business and discuss issues affecting the industry. Event sponsors are the Alabama Seafood Marketing Commission (ASMC) and the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries. Events include the Alabama Seafood Cook-Off the evening of June 26 at which four chef finalists will compete in a live cooking competition to represent the state at the Great American Seafood Cook-Off in New Orleans and a spot in the World Food Championships. The Alabama Gulf Seafood Summit will take place the following day June 27 with programming reflecting topics of interest for the Gulf seafood industry. Attendees include Commissioner of Agriculture & Industries John McMillan, Acting Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and ASMC Program Administrator Chris Blankenship, as well as local elected officials, distributors, restaurateurs, wholesalers, small producers and grocers.
