The City of Auburn, the Auburn Bicycle Committee and Auburn City Schools will host the 18th annual Auburn Bike Bash on Saturday, April 1 from 8 a.m. until Noon at Ogletree Elementary School (737 Ogletree Rd). The event provides several activities for all ages such as bicycle rides of varying distances, bicycle inspections, helmet fittings, exhibits, children’s activities, live music, door prizes and a cookout. Those wishing to participate can find registration online at www.bikebash.org. Register by March 22, 2017 in order to guarantee a t-shirt and goody bag. Participants can also register in-person on the day of the event. The cost is $5 for ages 12 and under and $10 for ages 13 and above. Auburn Bike Bash is an event to encourage biking, endorse bicycle safety, promote the health benefits of biking and emphasize local bike-friendly trails and areas. The 2017 routes will provide great rides for cyclists of all abilities. Route distances of 3, 9 and 17 miles will take riders through a variety of Auburn neighborhoods and beyond.
