Main Street Cafe

Restaurant

Today, Madison's third city hall is the popular Main Street Cafe. Opened in December 2000, the cafe features the two previous jail cells as private dining rooms. Owners Tony and Cindy Sensenberger leased the building in 2000 from the city of Madison. They have extensively renovated the building, adding a kitchen and outdoor dining room. The menu offers a wide variety, but Main Street Cafe is known for its strawberry pretzel salad, which isn't a salad, but a delicious sweet and salty dessert.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Main Street Cafe's famous strawberry pretzel salad isn't a salad after all, but a delicious sweet and salty dessert. Made up of three layers, it uses pretzels that have been tossed with sugar and butter and then baked, followed by a layer of cream cheese, whip topping and sugar that has been whipped together, and topped with a combination of strawberry gelatin and frozen strawberries.
