Where To Eat

Origin of the famous Dale's Steak Seasoning, which can be purchased in local grocery stores, this restaurant landmark specializes in delicious, marinated steaks and seafood. The lone survivor of a chain of restaurants begun by Jake Levine in Birmingham in 1946, Dale's is now a staple in restaurant facilities in the Shoals area of northwest Alabama.

Famous Dishes

Barbecue-stuffed baked potato

Dale's BBQ is the kind of place that often sells out of its barbecue that's smoked daily. Fans will tell you to show up early for a plate, because once it's gone, it's gone. Smoked over hickory wood with a special blend of spices and sauce until tender, Dale's barbecue is generously used in one of its most famous dishes: the barbecue-stuffed potato. A buttery baked potato is split in half and loaded with chopped beef brisket and served with plenty of sour cream and cheese on the side.
