6th Annual Dancin' in the Streets in Fairhope

FOR RELEASE: DECEMBER 7, 2008
Fairhope, AL  - Pin on the boutonnière and grab the bouquet, we’re celebrating New Year’s Eve in an exciting new way!  The 6th Annual Dancin’ in the Streets is set for New Year’s Eve and this year’s theme is "My Big Fat Fairhope Wedding".  The guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite member of a wedding event.  Brides, grooms, ring bearers, flower girls and even wedding singers are just a few of the costume possibilities.  Ladies, pull out those bridesmaid dresses and the dyed to match shoes because you'll be right in style with this charity occasion.
The officiant, Page and Palette Foundation, encourages you to lead the family procession to De La Mar Avenue, 7 to 11 pm on New Year’s Eve for a wacky wedding with all your friends.  Your invitation to Dancin’ in the Streets includes wedding hor d’oeuvres, drinks, a silent auction-themed New Year’s Resolutions, live music by the band, Rumor Mill and plenty of games for some big fat fun.  Also consider purchasing a tent on De La Mar Avenue for your personal wedding party - each size tent includes 12 Dancin’ in the Streets tickets ($240 value)! A 10x10 tent may be reserved for $350 and will include one 8 foot table and 15x15 tents are $400 and will include two 8 foot tables.  Please contact karin@pageandpalette.com for tent reservations.
The man of honor will be Pete the Cat, the creation of artist James Dean.  Pete the Cat is on both sides of the official, long-sleeve, event t-shirt.  People who participate in the newest addition to the day of fun, "Runnin’ in the Streets", will get a free t-shirt.  Page & Palette has the t-shirts now and may be purchased separately from the run for $15 each.
Runnin’ in the Streets, a 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run, will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31st. "Runnin’ in the Streets" registration costs are $20 in Advance/$25 Day of Event for adults; $15 in Advance/$20 Day of Event for participants under 21 years old.  The Dancin’ in the Streets party will take place 7 - 11 p.m., New Year’s Eve on De La Mare and invitation prices are also $20 in Advance/$25 Day of Event for adults; $15 in Advance/$20 Day of Event for children Under 21. There is special "combo" price for both Runnin’ & Dancin’ if purchased in advance which will save you $5. You can register online for the run at www.active.com or www.pageandpalette.com. Please come by Page & Palette for tickets today. A special incentive is offered to young runners from area schools. In addition to other contributions, the Page & Palette Foundation will give back $1 for every student who registers through their participating school.
After a day of running and an evening of celebrating, you can move the wedding party over to Fairhope Avenue for The City of Fairhope’s Annual New Year’s Eve Celebration. The events are sure to be an exciting combination. Sherry Sullivan with the City of Fairhope says, "I think it will be a win-win for both organizations."
