Founder Jason Wilson and Back Forty Beer are the pioneers of the craft beer movement in Alabama and now offer brewery tours and a taproom and test kitchen.
Good People Brewing Company
Good People Brewing, located next to Railroad Park in downtown Birmingham, has a taproom and offers tours of the brewery. Good People also operates a pub in the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.
High Ridge Spirits
High Ridge Spirits is the maker of Stills Crossroads Alabama ’Shine and is the first legal distillery in Alabama since Prohibition. This 100-proof ’shine is distilled in a former horse barn, with tours offered by appointment.
Jack Daniel's Cooperage
Alabama is making one of the key ingredients for Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey – the barrels, which experts say supply 100 percent of the color and 50 to 60 percent of the flavor. It is one of only two facilities in the world that makes barrels for Jack Daniel’s and the only one that makes barrels exclusively for the famous Lynchburg, Tenn., distillery.
Morgan Creek Vineyards
This family-owned vineyard and winery specializes in muscadine and fruit wines. Morgan Creek hosts several special events, including tastings, winery tours, music, fireworks and their annual grape stomp. Morgan Creek is also a popular location for weddings.
This north Baldwin County vineyard opened more than 35 years ago and offers a number of wines, vinegars and an assortment of condiments. They also offer tastings and tours.
Railyard Brewing is located across from Riverwalk Stadium and has a pub offering lunch and dinner.
Straight to Ale
Straight to Ale celebrates the heritage of Huntsville being “The Rocket City” with brews named Wernher von Braun Ale and Monkeynaut. The brewery has a taproom and offers tours.

Local craft brewery located in the historic Continental Gin at 4500 5th Av. S. Building C.

John Emerald Distilling Company
John Emerald Distilling is a small batch craft distillery located in beautiful downtown Opelika. Their mission is to honor their forefathers by making the finest Spirits available. Stop by for a taste test, tour the facility, or try one of their craft cocktails! Experience the light, crisp and refreshing Hugh Wesley’s Gin – made with hand-picked Alabama Juniper Berries. Do you prefer vodka? The Elizabeth Vodka is the first of its kind in Alabama – a corn-based vodka that is triple filtered to smooth out its demeanor.
